Sterling Corporate Finance Charity Golf Day 2017

18 September 2017

Sterling Corporate Finance Golf Day in aid of The Zambia Society Trust

Near perfect weather for the 7thSterling CF golf day, and of course 14 absolutely perfect teams! All teams participated with great enthusiasm and, in most cases, with great skill.

The Champagne Moment came when Hugh Thompson, of Lupton Fawcett, holed a spectacular 40-foot putt. He narrowly beat Phill Burke of Biscuit to the prize since Phill had an equally memorable experience on the green at the 11th, beating the professional to nearest the pin but then taking 5 shots to hole a 10-foot putt!

Thanks once again to BPR Heaton we were able to raffle a day’s golf for four at the Leeds Golf Club, and Lottie Shaw contributed towards a fantastic hamper full of their luxury bakery products.

We continued our positive trend of bettering our previous year’s total raised with a final figure of at least £2,400 to donate to The Zambia Society Trust. As in previous years this figure included a significant amount from the “Beat the Pro” competition, with golfers generously donating their winnings back to us if they did beat him.

We are very grateful to all who participated in the day and to Chris and his team at Rudding Park who, as usual, looked after us very well. Special thanks to Lisa for the  seemingly endless supply of delicious bacon sandwiches!

It would be lovely to be able to enter 14 teams again in 2018; we hope very much that you will all be back next year.

Thank you all.
